“I have severe arthritis in my back and leg and had to take NSAID’s every day to get through the day and again at night so I could sleep. The NSAID’s ate two holes in my stomach. Since I have started taking CBD Hemp Oil, I have eliminated the NSAID’s and can go all day and sleep through the night with minimal to no pain. ” Helen W.
We have been carrying CBD Hemp Oil at the Winer Wellness Clinic for 2 years now and this is just one of the many testimonies we have been hearing.
In case you missed it, Dr. Honigman was on KDKA’s radio program, (sponsored by The Winer Wellness Clinic every Saturday at 1:00 PM) talking about some of the uses of CBD Hemp Oil. Here are some of the points he brought up on his program.
What is it?
Most people associate the hemp plant, cannabis sativa, with the “pot” plant that can be used to get “high.” It is Tetrahydrocannabidol (THC) the psychoactive compound that produces the euphoric high. This is the active compound in “medical marijuana.”
Cannabidiol (CBD) is the non-psychoactive compound that is found in the industrial hemp plant which is a different species of cannabis sativa.
Both THC and CBD are cannabinoids that interact with our Endocannabinoid System which controls how the human body experiences pain, stress, hunger, sleep, circadian rhythms, blood pressure, body temperature, bone density, fertility, intestinal fortitude, mood metabolism, memory retention and more.
The medicinal properties of THC have been studied since the 1920’s but although it has only been researched since 1967, CBD is being found to have even more medicinal value than THC without the side effect of having a euphoric high. (although some have been disappointed to hear this!)
Is It Legal?
Because of the euphoric and even hallucinogenic properties of THC, it is a federal controlled substance and is only legal in a handful of states, for now. Since CBD has no psychoactive effect on the mind and body it is legal in all 50 states and you do not need a prescription to use it.
It is important to note, Full Spectrum CBD Hemp Oil Extract by law is allowed to contain less than .3% THC. It is a very small amount but it is possible that it could show up if a person were tested. If you are subject to random drug screening for your job, it is suggested that you take the THC Free Hemp Oil Extract.
Is It Safe?
CBD does not cause a “high” like THC. Extensive past studies suggest that CBD is well tolerated and safe to use even at higher dosages. CBD does not create dependency and in fact, has been shown to reduce cravings and addictions.
Will It Work For Me?
Medical research and numerous clinical studies show that CBD can help for a wide range of health challenges.
CBD is a powerful anti-inflammatory and many of our patients and customers have great success in tamping down their arthritis joint pain. CBD is an antibacterial agent, it protects the brain and nerves, it inhibits cancer cell growth, reduces seizures, blood sugar levels, relieves pain, anxiety, depression, reduces nausea, suppresses muscle spasms, and promotes bone growth.
Further studies show that CBD may help in the treatment of Fibromyalgia, PTSD, Schizophrenia, Crohn’s Disease, Lyme Disease, Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Diabetes, Acne and Insomnia and the studies continue. Newer uses for medical conditions will continue to be uncovered.
Our customer Ron D. called to tell us he had severe Crohn’s disease for years. He said, “CBD Hemp Oil has helped me with the bloating and painful stomach.”
A patient, Sonia L., said “I get pain in my knees when I walk up the stairs. Since taking the CBD Hemp Oil I am able to walk up the stairs with practically little to no pain.”
Not All CBD Hemp Oil Is Created Equal
There are literally hundreds of brands of CBD Hemp Oil on the market today. There are several key things to keep in mind when you are purchasing CBD Hemp Oil.
Where is the hemp grown?
It is important that it is grown organically in the United States. Many CBD Oils in the marketplace are imported from Europe and China and can be contaminated with pesticides.
How is the oil extracted?
Make sure the CBD Oil is extracted using a CO2 extraction method. Many CBD Oils use solvents which is much less expensive but the solvents contaminate the Oil.
How much CBD is in the Extract?
Finally, it is important that you note the milligrams (mg) of CBD. Many brands on the market are a fraction of the price of others but when you look at the total mg of CBD in the bottle or capsule it is very low, so you wind up not getting a therapeutic dose or your Oil doesn’t last very long as you have to use much more per dosage to be effective.
